Jye Marshall is a design academic, educator and researcher working across fashion, technology and educational innovation. He is a Lecturer in the School of Design and Architecture at Swinburne University of Technology, where his work explores how emerging technologies, new manufacturing systems and changing industry practices are reshaping the way designers learn and work.

With a background spanning fashion design, teacher education, educational leadership and vocational training, Jye brings together creative practice and systems thinking. His research focuses on smart manufacturing, transition design and the relationship between vocational and higher education. He is particularly interested in how design education can better prepare students to navigate complex social, technological and environmental change.

Jye has contributed to industry, government and international education projects, including work supporting vocational education transformation in Vietnam and research into the future of Australian fashion manufacturing. His teaching and research are grounded in collaboration, experimentation and a belief that education can be used as a tool for meaningful systems change.

Alongside his academic work, Jye is completing a PhD and continues to explore the intersections between fashion, industrial design and sports product innovation.
